Sunny day and the sea was calm the perfect day to install the mast. We started early at 9 in the morning and finished at 2 in the afternoon. The first thing was to tow the Caleuche to the site of the yacht Club to put the mast with the help of the crane of the travel lift. Once the mast was installed, the sailboat was towed back to its anchorage where the installation of the cable terminals began. For the whole process of installation and assembly of the mast I had the help of Antonio and his assistant the Chamo the two did a good job. In the Caleuche 2 we used Stalock cable terminals and Merriman turnbuckles. The headstay , backstay and the cap shrouds cables are 9 /16 inches thick and the lowers are 1/4 inch thick.
The installation of the boom will be on another day.
